UltraMist Nurses
UltraMist nurses administer low-frequency, non-contact ultrasound therapy to promote wound healing in chronic and hard-to-heal wounds. This specialized role requires training on the Mist Therapy device and a high degree of clinical precision.

Do I need wound care certification to apply as an RN?
Wound care certification (WCC, CWCN) is preferred but not required for RN roles. Encore provides clinical mentorship and supports certification pursuit through the EWCA Academy and third-party education partners. What matters most is clinical competency and a commitment to evidence-based wound care.
What certifications are preferred for Nurse Practitioners?
CWS (Certified Wound Specialist) and CWOCN (Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) certifications are preferred for NP roles. DEA registration is required for prescribing positions. Encore also actively seeks NPs with podiatric training or certification, as the ability to perform nail debridement and lower extremity wound care is a meaningful differentiator.
What does a Physician Assistant do at Encore, and how is it different from an NP role?
PA and NP roles at Encore are structurally similar: both involve advanced wound assessment, prescriptive authority, and independent care management. The key difference is licensure. PAs operate under a collaborative practice model in some states while NPs may have full independent practice. We match the role to your license and state regulations.
Do I need prior UltraMist or ultrasound therapy experience?
No prior UltraMist experience is required. Encore provides full device training and clinical protocols. We look for RNs with strong wound care instincts and a willingness to learn a new modality. Experience with advanced wound therapies (NPWT, hyperbaric, etc.) is a plus.
What does a QA Nurse role look like day-to-day?
Most QA work is remote. You'll review documentation in WoundTracker, cross-reference care plans against protocol standards, and provide written or verbal feedback to field clinicians. Some QA Nurses also join facility visits periodically for in-person chart reviews or clinical coaching.
Are these roles 1099 or W-2?
We offer both employment (W-2) and independent contractor (1099) arrangements depending on the role, specialty, and region. The structure is discussed during the intro call so you can choose what works best for your situation.
Can I work part-time or does Encore require full-time commitment?
Encore accommodates a range of availability across all specialties. Some providers round 2–3 days per week while others maintain full-time caseloads. We build schedules around your availability and match you to facilities accordingly.
Do I need my own malpractice insurance?
1099 providers are responsible for carrying their own malpractice and professional liability insurance. W-2 employees are covered under Encore's group policy. Coverage details are reviewed during onboarding.
Is the Data Entry Specialist role clinical or administrative?
It sits at the intersection of both. While no patient care or licensure is required, strong medical terminology knowledge and healthcare documentation experience are important. The role supports Encore's clinical teams directly, so accuracy and familiarity with wound care language matter.
