The Encore Wound Care Academy is a dedicated training program housed in a fully equipped classroom at Encore's headquarters. It's where the clinical knowledge that drives our outcomes gets passed on in person, hands-on, and led by experienced wound care educators.
The EWCA serves both Encore's own providers, including new hires building their clinical foundation before their first visit and field clinicians returning for continuing education, as well as nursing staff at partner long-term care facilities looking to sharpen their wound care skills.

Who can attend EWCA sessions?
The EWCA is open to two groups: Encore's own clinical providers (as part of new hire onboarding or ongoing continuing education) and nursing staff at long-term care facilities that partner with Encore. Where does the EWCA take place?
Training sessions are held in-person at Encore's headquarters, which features a dedicated clinical classroom equipped for hands-on skills practice. The space includes anatomical training models, a full supply of wound care products, NPWT and compression therapy devices, and dual-screen AV presentation capabilities.
Does the course offer continuing education credits?
Yes. The EWCA's foundational wound care course offers 8 contact hours for registered nurses. The curriculum is structured to meet CE documentation requirements and participants receive a certificate of completion for submission to their licensing board.
What's the format of a training session?
Sessions combine structured didactic instruction covering anatomy, wound types, staging, dressing selection, infection control, and more, with dedicated hands-on lab time. Participants practice dressing changes, wound measurement, repositioning techniques, and NPWT application using clinical simulators.
Is there an assessment at the end?
Yes. A 25-question multiple-choice assessment is administered at the end of each course to evaluate content comprehension and course effectiveness. The assessment is part of the CE credit documentation process.
